Dj Yoda recently tweeted a link to a good mini documentary on Londons Pirate Radiostations.

The mini documentary has been published on vbs.tv and gives some nice impressions on how Londons Pirate Radiostations work and what they do.

“We went to London to tell the story of pirate radio – secret urban studios that transmit music from concrete tower blocks to the city, and met with DJs, and station managers, rappers and MCs. We met with DJ Scratcha from RINSE FM, MC Flirt from old school KOOL FM, J2k, Jammer, and Logan Sama. We uncovered how they stay underground and away from the authorities, while still setting the new music standard across London. We sailed to the source, where it all started – massive concrete and steel forts that sit at the mouth of the Thames River. We met the people who pioneered the spirit of pirate, and played the music that London wanted to hear. They set the standard, and when the authorities shut them down, pirate sounds went into the urban underground.”

Exit Through The Gift Shop

“The incredible true story of how the world’s greatest Street Art movie was never made …”

Famous graffiti artist Banksy presents his debut film “Exit Through The Gift Shop”. The movie premiered at the Sundance Filme Festival back in January.

Exit Through The Gift Shop is billed as ‘the world’s first street art disaster movie’ and contains exclusive footage of Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Invader, and many of the world’s most infamous graffiti artists at work.

The film is in UK cinemas since 5th of March, can’t wait to get to see it! Check out the trailer below!!!

MUTO by BLU

These vids aren’t really new, but everytime I watch vids by BLU I get fascinated by his outstanding work.

If you don’t know BLU, you have to take a look at the following two short films.

BLU is an italian graffiti artist and described MUTO as: ‘an ambiguos animation painted on public walls – made in buenos aires and baden’.

Legendary DJ Z-Trips will be playing three gigs in Europe this month, September 2009!!!

24. Sep. 2009 – Noodlanding @ Paradiso – SG Amsterdam

25. Sep. 2009 – Matter – London

26. Sep. 2009 – La Maroqinerie – Paris

Shepard Fairey will be joining Z and also drops a DJ Set himself! IMO this show is a must see and I am really glad Z shows up in Europe for a few gigs in 2009!!!
