One of my favorite Turntablism-Crews is the french crew C2C. C2C have won the DMC world Team Championships a record breaking 4 times, an achievement matched by no other artist in the history of DMC.
DJs Greem, Atom, Pfel & 20Syl make up the French quartet and each use their turntables as instruments recreating drums or bass guitars, scratching a riff of guitar or shearing the brass, to lead to a harmony similar to that of traditional bands.
C2C’s participation in regular competitions has earned them a number of titles including the team DMC Technics Championships in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, Technics DMC French Cup 2001 and French vice-champions 2001 & 2002. Their DMC Technics win in 2003, saw the team achieve a historical double, making them the only team to equal the likes of Q-Bert & The Rock Steady Crew.

Pfel, the last DJ to join the crew also has an impressive collection of solo competitions trophies including DMC France Champion 2003 and 2004 in the category “Battle for World Supremacy” as well as ITF French Champion 2003.
C2C’s rise, has led them to perform all around Europe with the likes of Q-Bert, A-Track, The Scratch Perverts & DJ Vadim to name a few. Exploiting to the maximum their human skills alongside their equipment (made up of mixers effects, feedback, Larsens..)
The C2C show is breathless for the listener; from linking hip hop & funk classics to the musical and technical dexterity of the unparalleled talent of the foursome with each individual allowed the time to shine during their complex sequences.

Beattorrent
Currently a duo-project by DJ Pfel & Atom goes by the name of Beattorrent. The Beattorrent show is an intense 90 minute journey through hip hop and electronica mixed with jaw dropping precision and skill, on 4 decks.
Their unique shows sees them remix classic tunes as varied as Pumpkin & HunnyBunny/Misirlou (THAT guitar track from the movie Pulp Fiction ) and Sure Shot (Beastie Boys) as well as creating their own compositions on the turntables.
I am planning to visit one of the Beattorrent shows in Paris sometime. If I get to see Beattorrent live on stage, I will report my impressions here on my blog.
